Teachers’ Effective Strategies (Methods) to Deal with Shy Students in the Classrooms

Abstract

The study investigates the methods or strategies of teachers in dealing with the timid students whose participation level is not satisfactory during the lessons in the classrooms. The aim of the study is to select and highlight the most efficient strategies which are implemented and used by the academic lyceum teachers in the field of teaching English as a foreign language and identify the reasons behind this behavior. The data collected through a survey and observations in the research and according to the results taken from the survey, the study recommends useful strategies such as organizing group activities or appointing them as a group leader to reduce the behavior of shyness.
