Rural Resort Landscape Design Centred on Bamboo Culture Exploring Tourism Resorts in the Context of China's Rural Vitalization Strategy

Abstract

This paper explores the integration of bamboo culture into rural resort landscape design within the framework of China’s Rural Vitalization Strategy. Bamboo, an essential cultural and ecological symbol in China, is proposed as a central element in developing tourism resorts that align with sustainable rural development. The study investigates how bamboo-inspired landscapes can enhance the aesthetic appeal, cultural significance, and environmental sustainability of rural resorts. By analysing case studies from bamboo-rich regions, the paper assesses the potential of these designs to attract tourism, promote local heritage, and contribute to the economic revitalization of rural areas. The findings suggest that bamboo-centred design strategies not only preserve the ecological balance but also foster a unique cultural identity for rural resorts, supporting broader rural revitalization efforts in China. This research provides valuable insights for landscape architects, policymakers, and tourism developers aiming to harmonize cultural heritage with sustainable rural development goals.
